Voice Of Silence Poem by Varsha M

Voice Of Silence

Rating: 5.0

Two people conversing
Often land up fighting
When thoughts are clashing
And dire need becomes proving.

But, have you ever thought
How silence speaks out
Not a word poured out
Yet messages reach out.

How? How? This work out
For no word I heard
No clashes spread
How communication heeded?

Hold on my gentle mind
Silence speaks not in words
But in the action it does
And the reaction it gives.

A stare in silence
Reminds all violence
A sigh in silence
Shows incongruence.

A silence in love
Means you hurt her most
A silence in relationship
Calls for a need to communicate.

A silence wise move
Everytime things groove
And your anger shoot
Chasing like wild bull.

Silence is valence
Until it yields gallons
Of happiness
Reparing the wrongs.

For now the silence itches
Memories best clutches
And your mistakes arches
Presenting their cases.

The ripple of silence
Strikes the aura of imbalance
Making you to introspect
Until you develop muscles to respect.

Hence, hopes to reunite emerge out
And need of forgiveness hoods out
Remarking silence to be out loud
For you know now who is proud.

A silence beyond this
Only builds massive voids
For seed of fear gets planted
And desire to repair marches out.

For now mighty ego sets in
Senses to analyses fade out
Good of silence is wiped out
And dragon of misconceptions stand out.

Silence builds
Only till you deal
With the mighty will
Beyond that it kills.

(cont.) Well, Varsha, I've read others' comments and am nearly stunned at how they all heap praise on your poem. But i MUST SAY, at least so you know it, that i did not agree with most of their praise. : ( (cont.)

stanza 10: I was surprised to learn that 'introspect' is a word. There are 'tons' of English words I've never heard of, or don't know well enough to use properly. ;) (cont.)

From the wording of the poem, I failed to know which of four definitions, I found online, applied to 'incongruence' in stanza five. (cont.) . : (,

I may return with more comments. I have not finished reading poem. It appears you are not set up on PH to receive 'Messages'. Do you WANT to be set up to receive them? I know I and many others ARE set up to receive them. bri : ) I may return here. : )

stanza 2: you switch from present verb tense to past tense and back to present tense. : ) I would keep it in present tense.

(cont.) I had little to say that was positive about the poem. In fact, I'm sure i sounded quite negative; I say what i feel without wanting to cause 'bad feelings'. bri ;) p.s. I shall comment no more here.

I finally finished reading and commenting a day or two ago, at least. But i don't see most recent comments. I hope they were not received and deleted by Varsha. (cont.)

(cont.) I've come to learn that silence often serves a wonderful purpose to defuse a very bad situation here in my own home, giving one or both of us time to calm down etc. But words are often well worth trying before using silence, even though words often start the trouble. ; ( bri

Well thanks to Silent PoemHunter, I've just lost a fairly long comment i tried to leave. Basically, I'll say that interpreting silence is not foolproof, and can lead to very serious misunderstandings! ! ! And using words also can cause problems, due to the speaker and/or the listener. (cont.)

I DO LIKE YOU AS A PH FRIEND, but much of what i read was unclear, in meaning, to me or, at times, maybe even contradictory. Well, maybe i'm just not 'tuned in'. Maybe my ability to understand is damaged by all the...I don't know what! ! (cont.)
