Voices Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Voices

Voices from long ago call echoing in dreams
Memories of childhood, joyous, sweet, innocent
Bright golden summers seemed never-ending
When happiness reigned, days rich with love
Family supporting, encouraging, guiding the way
Parents and brother now long gone, grave deep.
Burdened with old age, anthric bones, blood pressure
Alone, difficulty walking, time cruelly speeded up,
Destination grave coming ever closer.
Throughout life sought for meaning and truth
Found blue planet like single grain of sand
Lost within desert of stars expanding outwards
Away into eternal blackness of space limit unknown,
While wondering on existence of a loving God.
