Vow Poem by Fatuma Abdi

Vow

Rating: 4.0

They say I'm crazy
But I say they lazy
I made myself a vow
That they would one day bow

The proof is in the way i hustle
Cos I'mma build a castle
My effort is fruitless to you
But to me it's a struggle boo

I know where I started from
And what I am running from
I promise to show everyone
That I'm someone

And I promise to use everything
To make something
Something out of this meaningless life
I vow I'mma strive

Keep saying I'm crazy
Keep staying lazy
But I'll keep my vow
That one day you shall bow.

I'd avoid end rhymes like the plague, if you want any recognition as a poet
