Voyage Time Morphs Into Luxury Flight Time Poem by Terence George Craddock

Voyage Time Morphs Into Luxury Flight Time

continents distances contracted
technology ship steam diesel engines
aircraft piston jet modern safety standards
a month weeks of hard slog travel contracts
into a brief day mere hours on direct routes
nice catered food luxury food choice drinks

ghost sea sick peril ship risk voyages
pale dirty half starved scurvy passengers
ship wreck piracy long gone past fears

hostess service awaits modern travelers
customs requires no isolation Ellis Island
cell phone internet communication instant
no uncertain snail mail time delivery delays
an ease of travel accommodation bookings
once unprecedented impossible to imagine
