Wait 12-4-04 Poem by Amber Green

Wait 12-4-04

You're a friend but I know you want more.
That's just something I can't do.
There's a lock on the door.

I thought you knew that too.
I'm in love with her still,
and that's not going to change.

Forget her, I never will.
Even the thought is out of range.
You mean so much to me,

So I need you to understand this part,
If there's one thing you must see,
It's that she holds my heart.

I see you as more than a friend, true.
But that is all you are.
Because I could never love you,

While she holds my heart so far.
I'm sorry but we'll remain friends,
Until I am able to move on.

Until I can connect my ends,
And accept that she's gone.
I need to be ready for this,

And I pray that you will wait.
Until I can accept your bliss.
Hopefully, then it wont be too late.
