Waiting Room Poem by Annabel Cruz

Waiting Room

Rating: 4.0

They come in, and they go out
Faces, blank and staring
Sometimes talking, sometimes silent
But always staring
Into a little waiting room
Crowded with over anxious faces
Listening to elevator music
Soothing their nerves, calming their fears
Waiting for the woman in white
With her clipboard
Everyone stares, holding their breath
Some sigh with relief, others sit and wait
Sometimes talking, sometimes silent
But always staring.
