Wake Me Up When It's Over (Don't Call When You're Sober) Poem by G J Salgado

Wake Me Up When It's Over (Don't Call When You're Sober)

It's not working out so we're going out separate ways
Now that it's over and we're saying goodbye
I noticed something new about you today
I questioned our decisions asking myself why

But I know we can't look back
It's time to move forward
Not this time there's no going back
This time it's really over

I don't know how to tell you
That there's no getting over you
But we were both over each other for awhile
We grew apart no longer fitting each other's style

In the end we have to ask ourselves was it all even worth it
You keep telling me the same things but I've already heard it

No need to leave the light on
Cause I won't be coming home
Leave it on for any of the other ones
Since you're the one who likes to roam

I told myself it wasn't worth it
I'm the one you keep hurtin
So many times you lied
Left me alone when I cried

Now you can feel how cold it is in that house
I'm done playing cat and mouse
I'm done with you
You already know we're through

No need to act sober
So just lose my number
You don't need to call
Don't worry bout me at all

I won't pick up the line
I'm gonna be just fine
Found another to wine and dine
He shows me I'm worth his time

In the end you have to ask yourself was it all even worth it
I keep telling you the same things but you've already heard it
