Walk Away Poem by Rutvi Padhy

Walk Away

Rating: 4.5

I miss the way you’d hold my hands,
I miss the way you’d caress my hair,
I miss those nights beneath the stars,
And I miss the last day in your arms.

I miss the way you’d cup my face,
Miss the way you’d kneel and tie my lace,
I miss those silent evenings in the boat,
And I miss the last letter you wrote.

I miss the way you’d cheer me up,
I miss the way you’d hug me tight,
I miss those beautiful things you’d say,
And I miss the last kiss you gave…

Yes I do miss all those moments by your heart,
Yet I’ve never wished your love come back,
‘Cause perhaps I could miss you and still live in pain,
But once was enough,
I cannot watch you walk away again…

Lovely piece of poetry, well articulated and nicely penned with conviction. The conclusion of the poem made me recall the adage ONCE BEATEN TWICE SHY. A good poem written with insight. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
