Freed from lead, dashing into woods
Seeking thrills, adventure, new smells
Tail wagging, rushing through undergrowth
Sniffing scents of rabbits, fleet-footed deer
Cautious, wary when confronting badgers
Returning swiftly for human protection.
Joyful, boisterous meeting other dogs
Giving friendly greetings, sniffing rear ends
Dashing away together into the trees
Barking with delight at being a dog.
