Walking With Hope Poem by Nell Sheridan

Walking With Hope

Rating: 5.0

Walking with Hope
The windswept tide, of emotions flows, within everyone,
Regardless of gender, ourethnicity,or our chosen religion,
We share needs, thought processes, so many similarities,
At times drawn, together and bonded, by shared irregularities

Hope is a sheer and utter refusalto surrender,
Hope is humanity's essence in all her splendour,
Hope holds the desperately sickand slowly dying,
Hope comforts the needy and broken when crying,

We the people, who hold firm, our own defined destinies,
Taking upon us, the weight, trying todeal with life'stragedies,
Asylum seekers, all of us, buying feel better chemical substitutes,
Lining up sadly, the chemist procession, better to examine our attributes,

Hope can be that glimmer of lightso very distant,
Hopeis humanity'struelyoriginal anti- depressant,
Hope is infinite and began before anyone can remember,
Hope Is eternal and will continue long after our surrender,

Blindly deaf, to our own needs, chasing our tails attempting spirituality,
Muted acceptance, of humanity'soutcry, following the flowacquiescently,
Judging others, no self- examination, no apologies and no understanding,
Petulant children, society collectively, waging war with tantrums demanding,

There is no harm in hope no adverse side affects,
No negativitycaused in any of Hope's possible aspects,
I would rather hold hope in the face of this adversary,
Than to die with none at all in life'sdecrepitdecendancy,

Building bridges, coping with life, steadily defeating inconvenience,
Pills depleted, the chemist closed, who will you seek in this alliance,
Will you call, upon your God, or will you seek the self repair challenge,
Will you think, or entertain, perhaps seeking wrongly chemist revenge,

I smile each and every day with Hope steady alongside,
Hope walks beside me step by step the ever returning tide,
Described acutelya represented life- line or safety rope,
There'sfar worse things in life than falselywalking with Hope.
