There is a wall of fear that dwell,
In their minds when bad news spread,
Imminent warning signs give rise,
Of layoffs set ahead.
Tough times make it hard to cope,
When their mortgage is past due,
They have mouths to feed, and bills to pay,
A college loan to name a few.
Their prospect is bleak and now they stumble,
Because leaders dropped the ball,
The door of opportunity closes,
To those who gave their all.
There is no telling what the future holds,
From a place, they learned to depend,
Workers move beyond not knowing how,
So do most, though they must wend.
