Walls Poem by Tom Allport

Walls

Rating: 5.0

The grass was never
Coloured green
The sky was never
Ever seen
The nights of wonder
Could elephants fly
Walls are built
To deny.

Thank you, Tom. What this poem says to me, is that whether it is an actual physical wall that divides, or a social one that says Keep Away and Not Welcome to those we perceive as different, Walls are built to deny access. A thought-provoking poem!
