Wanting Freedom Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Wanting Freedom

Reaching for the stars, getting star dust in my eyes.
Now just seeing the bright parts of life's essence.
A joyous priority of tonight's love, giving up heart
and soul, letting love consume and capture me for
once.
How long, I can't say, maybe just for now we can be
together, I don't know.
Not wanting to be tied down or reined in by anyone,
Just living an existence, a solo journey that I'd
always prefer to take alone.
No more room for anyone else, I just can't take
having my space invaded - I need so much more room,
that it's better if I go it alone, don't you think
so too?
