War Poem by Elizabeth Saylor

War

As a man headed for war,
He kissed his wife thrice,
Gave all his children hugs,
Then said final goodbyes.
'I'll be back soon',
is what he said.
But little did he know,
That he would end up dead.

I find your poem very precise and the simplicity of it gave impact to the Truth, that war is always tragic and there are always victims: families.
