Warmth, Not Wealth, Feeds Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Warmth, Not Wealth, Feeds

A mother in penury has her child
Suckles her breast and slumber on her lap.
A mother in luxury buys her child
A feeding bottle and a silver cradle.
The child of the poor is rich in warmth,
Though with no silver spoon in its mouth.
