Warrior Poem by julie kops

Warrior

Go now gentle warrior
your arrow true in flight
fighting for your lonely cause
bringing justice with the night.

In a still small corner of the soul
hold fast to the memory
of all that you have seen
and all that you will be

For your revenge is honesty
pure in its intent
redemption of those lost in vain
crusader of the innocent

And though the path you tread
is long and hard to bear,
remember those who've walked before
dwell with their spirits there

To give the ultimate
even life, a single soul to save
is your gift immeasurable
the destiny of the brave.

And when you finally come to rest
in peaceful dreams beyond
know that another will walk this path
and carry your courage on
