Watching You Watching Me Poem by Josh Burnett

Watching You Watching Me

I’m standing here all alone and stare at you from across the room,
And from the corner I smile because I notice you’re watching me too.
I watch you and I can see your eyes dancing wildly all the way through.
I’ve never been quiet sure about anything like I do now.
You are my one temptation and my one true desire,
And I’m glad it’s not a sin to try and love again.

I love watching you watching me,
And I can see it in your eye.
It’s such a thrill and so worthwhile.
My heart’s beating now,
Although I know I’m walking a narrow line,
But I can tell by the way you glance at me,
That you believe one day we both could be.

I know that I could give you everything that you need,
Just by the kindness in your heart.
I want to walk up to you and say just a word,
But I’m speechless and I don’t know where to start.
So I’ll continue to watch you watching me,
Until I find the right words I need to say.

I watch you watching me,
And I can see it in your eye.
It’s such a thrill and so worthwhile.
My heart’s beating now,
Although I know I’m walking a narrow line,
But I can tell by the way you glance at me,
That you believe one day we both could be.
