Water Creature Poem by Sarah Sisson

Water Creature

My scales are thin.
I breathe through them.
I am porous. Blue and green
I am pink when I emerge
from cold water but
only if the sun hits me
right. My body naked.
I am a secret of the
deep and a captive of
the white foam that I hide
within. You will not know
me...ever. I am not unique
I am partially man.
I am a mermaid.
