Water Logging Poem by Mehreen Mujeeb

Water Logging

I follow lightning
To see the sky's broken torch
I follow thunder
To watch the sky scream.

I shiver but I stare
My mind shivering my wet hair
I want to dissolve
Into the rain.

This is a very cold dark night
And not a sweater in sight
The raindrops burn my skin
The wind encloses me in pins.

No matter how much I shiver
My mind can't stop from seep
I dream too much, I think too deep
And that is why I can't sleep.

The first stanza really stands out with its images and meaningful words, lots for the senses. It is a brilliant piece of work.
