Watering A Flower That Is Already Dead Poem by Dorsey Baker

Watering A Flower That Is Already Dead

Rating: 5.0

Don't know?
who anyone is
Don't know?
where anything is
having a senior
moment
far too many times
lasting much too long
senile is just
another prison
imprisoned in darkness
no escape
trying to recall
the precious moments
the laughter
the tears
so many vacant years
no trace
of where you have come from
or where you have been
a sad sight to see
seeing someone
with nothing left
to look forward to!

The metaphoric title suits so well with the content of the poem. Saddest but true facts. Thank you for sharing this poem full of old age sufferings (being senile is more than only suffering, he/she suffers each day heaviesdt but all painless. Heaviest for the family but painless for the patient. This group has my constant attention, I am saddest.
