Watsky Poem by Ann McKinley

Watsky

Rating: 4.5

For as long as I can remember
creativity and inspiration always had great meaning
The longest time writing poetry
Just writing anything
Was my only friend
The only way I had to relive this stress
I get lost in my own mind
My written words get stuck
Writing about sadness and sorrow
Was my only luck
flowing through my pen
Escaping the dark scenery trapped in my head
Does anyone realize how bad I want this?
For the world to hear my sorrow
To hear my story
Join into my laughter and shed tears
I want to be a master
An inspiring creator
Like Poe, or Dickinson
Or even like Watsky
Who's word inspired me to find mine
It helps me stay sain to know Im not the only one in pain
Its twisted in a way
Sit down and Ill listen
Listen and Ill talk
Cause I want nothing more but to be a boss
Thank you Watsky
for Inspiring me
To face the facts, take a stand
and making me see how awesome catapults can be!

This is your first poem posted on this site and it's inspiring to know how you seek relief of stress through poetry. 'Just writing anything Was my only friend The only way I had to relive this stress' - All poets experience this kind of feeling at some point in their life, I guess! Never heard of Watsky but having read your poem, googled up and came to know a lot about George Virden Watsky. Thank you for sharing this poem. In 'It helps me stay sain to know Im not the only one in pain', I think the word should be sane and not sain. You may like to edit the poem accordingly.
