Wayward Elephants, Whither To? Trumpeting For Food In The Forests Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Wayward Elephants, Whither To? Trumpeting For Food In The Forests

Elephants trumpeting in the forests
Bereft of,
Deserted and lonely,
Cut down and cleared,
I can hear,
Hear it
Calling for food,
Asking for, going in tussle with,
Elephants,
Elephants trumpeting in the forests
Bereft of,
Deserted and lonely
Calling,
Asking for food,
Driven from place to place,
Sometimes struck down by rushing trains
While crossing the lines
In the dense forests
And often spilling and straying to farmlands
And roadways
As for food,
Elephants,
Wild elephants.
