We... - Poem by Rajeswari A V

I used to wish for ur smile
That often lit up seeing my gaze
We passed like strangers
Through the same corridors and stairs
we met many times without words
And tried to converse in silence
Every attempt ended up in dismay
Of not talking so openly as heart craved
we were so ordinary, yet strange
That we felt so lonely in crowd
But, we tried in different ways
To cover it up with our will
You seemed too sober
And laughed at my frequent laughter
I made myself zealous
Winking at ur terrible coldness
