we all die
the differences
are the morals...
ethics values we affirm
or reject in our lives
our humanity...
can best be judged
by what we do for those...
who can do nothing for us
we can choose to believe
in support those in need...
with compassion kindness
or ignore or exploit
their suffering misery...
the scale of our support
or indifference differs
esoteric values define us...
I have for many decades
now loved the lines
'God bless those who fear to speak,
for the fallen and the weak.
God bless those who fear to be,
in the right with two or three.'
because a change of heart
from a cruel or indifferent heart
to a kind loving nurturing heart...
is a birth beautiful life changing heart
a heart which can enrich bless many lives...
