We Are All Hypocrites In Some Way

Rating: 5.0

You can take the life of another human being if you can kill a fly
Those words apply to everyone as much as you or I
You hate somebody bad enough you wish that person dead
The poisoned mind created the thought that to the murder led.

You may be a vegetarian and you may loathe the taste of meat
But you wear leather on your body and you wear leather on your feet
And for you to wear your furs and leather some creature had to die
We are all hypocrites in some way and in some way live a lie.

I know of one when her son was nine she did not like football
And that was just five years ago as I can well recall
But now that he is with a team she goes to watch him play
For love of self through her son she is a hypocrite or so 'twould seem that way.

We are all hypocrites in some way that's how 'twould seem to me
And even the perfectionist in some way the most imperfect though most with that would not agree
You may be a model person and observe man's and god's law
But no such a thing as a perfect human being in each of us some flaw

I should not speak for all of human kind for myself I should only speak
And though many claim the soul is immortal the soul too can be weak
And I am a hypocrite in some way of such why should I lie
But to every man, woman, boy and girl these words too do apply
