the record of our lives is like growth rings in trees
like an acorn we are dropped discarded or planted
in due season in time we may grow into tall trees
across determined years throughout many seasons
we may grow in time recorded growth rings in trees
in fair weather rain hail thunder lightning fire storms
we may grow myriad climate changes will weather us
fire trials of life will shape may or may not consume us
trees may grow in uniform forests worker cog wage slaves
trees may grow in soil rocks on cliffs ancient primeval forests
trees may be chosen shaped unique beloved dwarf bonsai trees
each ring within rings is a year within life circle seasons
unless double rings in a single year hot a season favours
between rings flicker sunlight night white black moments
time flows rivers run ocean river currents are tides
flowing within oceans undersea visiting continents
