We Are Not The Messiah Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

We Are Not The Messiah

We are not the Messiah sent to save the world,
It will always have problems, the poor, the bad.
It will have those calamities that nature hurled,
We are powerless against them, we are not God!

Some people carry false burdens in their hearts,
They drain themselves with worries of earthly wars.
They bear the woes that evil in this world imparts,
And so clothe themselves with undue scars.

From centuries of Time, Man has engaged in these,
Murder came from the first sons, borne out of Envy.
Like dark ink that spreads over a white page - peace
Was an alien word Man was bent to destroy constantly.

Yes Light came to show us that He is the Way
He is the Prince of Peace, He is Love and Mercy.
All who've known Him are His vessels of peace today
Only Love conquers Darkness, and He will reign eternally!
