Who gave us religion?
How did it come to this region?
Why it is not universal?
What is origin and time of its arrival?
Thousands of thoughts invade at a time
I stare at sky and slip in memory sometimes!
It is mere imposition from majority people
Even thought it is inviting lots of trouble
Why we call it holy?
Why do not we deny it wholly?
Yes, because it has some holy substance
We take it as truth and not as simple chance
With Jesus name or prophet’s utterances
With the name of any God, it assumes
Holiness in breath with each intake and out
“The almighty is with you” as we speak about
Let it be Islam, Hinduism or Christianity
At the heart it is mankind and humanity
When we think of poverty among people?
It reminds us of not religion but simple struggle
We celebrate each year
Holy days with hymns to hear
Pray almighty for better days ahead
Seek guidance and positively led
This is what we call purity at heart
It is not an artificial art
But felt from within toward brethren
With equal feeling and concern
