We Choose Our Reality? Poem by Chuy Amante

We Choose Our Reality?

Rating: 5.0

Two men,
a luxury apartment they rented
ones demeanor looked up and gazed,
always amazed, rarely vented.
The other tended to always look down,
always saw the mud,
lived with a frown.

Happiest was he that was totally blind,
the things he heard and smelled,
he did not mind.

The other had eyes
and judge he did,
all was imperfect,
miserable
and quite insipid.

One day Mr. Happy,
as blind as a bat,
was enjoying his beach condo
imagine that!

The sounds of the wind,
the roar of the sea,
noise from the gulls
boat motors,
and bumping hulls!

He sat in his condo
right by the water,
so much to appreciate,
some much to ponder!

A blessed day by the sea
smells, sounds,
in all its glory!

Abruptly there was a loud door slam,
Mr. Grumpy showed up, and yelled God****

He slammed the windows shut
in a very big hurry,
What was going on,
why all the fury?

He yelled at Mr. Happy
and declared the day crappy!

'Those foreign invaders, making too much noise,
take your lawn mowers and implements, you stinky boys.
How dare you make all that racket and dust,
leave us the heck alone, leave NOW, you must'

Shocked was Mr. Happy
who had been at the beach,
blind to Mr. Grumpy's world

PERSPECTIVE BELONGS TO EACH!

Here we are on this big planet alone?
Choosing the reality
we want to own.

WAKE UP and claim
YOUR reality today,
for that is what you'll have
your entire earth stay.

Two old boys, I visited year back, in a rest home...
They each tried to pass on to me a very different world.
Guess which one I choose
