We Claim To Be Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

We Claim To Be

Rating: 5.0

We claim to be honest on election’s eve
So many tall promises and high hope to give
Making impossible to realize if given chance
To stick to chair with glue if given chance at once

It is not likely that particular people are guilty
They are gifted with knowledge and ability
They have nice background and family history
People can vote him and later on won’t feel sorry

It is like high profile proficiency to spread the net
Keep all the spoils legally and not others let
It is such lucrative field that no one may want to leave
They want others to listen to them and believe

When country is wedded to certain principles
Some of the high ideals are to be observed as pillars
No one may buy your arguments for failure
As it is linked to survival and country’s future

Country doesn’t get independence overnight
So many sacrifices have to be made and offered a fight
Nation can then heave a sigh of relief
Expressing all thanks with honor and belief

Time comes when tide is turned
Power makes them corrupt and expectations never returned
Not all the people can raise a banner or turn against
Something else remains on card to get the best

It is acid test for emerging nations
They have to maintain cordial relations
With hostile neighbors and powerful nations
They may want to course the economy and permanent stations

There may be different though of schools
No one can for long make them fools
It is national interest, honor and pride
That guides future course and sentiments to ride
