'' We Demand Equal Rights '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' We Demand Equal Rights ''

With countries to run,
They claim it's hard,
There isn't much fun,
It leaves some scarred.

Be it movies or cleaning,
Men get paid more,
To us it's demeaning,
It makes life a chore.

The amount they are paid,
They claim is too little,
But it's all a charade,
Men can be brittle.

For doing the same job,
We get paid less,
Our complaints they fob,
Causing us stress.

They tend to forget,
It's on us they rely,
Yet we're seen as a threat,
When we refuse to comply.

We refuse to sit back,
This injustice will end,
You are under attack,
If your ways you don't mend.

The world would cease,
If we women got off,
It's us you fleece,
Yet still you men scoff.

This is going to get gritty,
Your attitude sours,
Discard your self-pity,
The future is ours.

In our new existence,
We will hit the heights,
We don't want subsistence,

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
After over a decade of women fighting for equality in the workplace Glasgow finally relented and granted equal pay to women, shame on those, mainly men, who wasted millions of pounds fighting this breach oh human rights.
