I knew a similar poem
about a caged baby parrot
whose mom came searching for her
and sad couldn't help
the kid was imprisoned.
The mom conveyed a message.
she shivered and shook and fell dead
after a while when the owner had slept
she flew away.
The kid parrot was smart
remembered every step
When the owner came
she shivered and fell dead
The owner opened the cage and felt sad
and threw her across the hedge
The moment he looked away
she got up and to her mom flew away
See how animals and birds can convey
we humans just freedom take away
Your poem reminded me of a poem I once translated into my language. This is an excerpt from this poem: ... The caged bird sings with fearful trill of the unknowns but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom... Maya Angelou
