We Must Begin To Change The World Poem by Linda Racaniello

We Must Begin To Change The World

Between the natural disasters that destroy our world
and the ideas and evil that corrode our minds
is it any wonder the vices people find and desire
the rage & anger that litter the land like a raging fire

Wars and disease and famine maim the country and world
Drugs and demons burrow deeper into our minds
Cholesterol and fat clog our arteries and our hearts
Is there anything good left to keep us from falling apart?

There is terror on every street, in every town in the world
Kids killing kids, our armor destroyed by demented minds
Genocide, suicide, murder and mayhem surround
with terrorists attacking in the air, the sea and on the ground

There is so much hopelessness, what are we doing to the world?
Why can't we control the madness, the insanity that grows in the mind...
Why can't change what we see, what we hear, and what we do...
There has to be a better way to live, to grow, to be - me and you.

I pray to God that he sees the people trying to change the world
and that he helps rid the diseases and anger that control the mind
We need to work side by side, to be team players to fix the world together
To fight the fights, and win the wars, to begin to love one another forever

I believe in God, The Holy Spirit and Jesus
I pray for the soldiers and their families
and the addicts and the inmates
the sick and the dying

I pray that someday we all fight as one
or better yet we don't fight at all
