We Must Number Our Days Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

We Must Number Our Days

Rating: 5.0

Age is but a number,
The Number of my Years,
The Number of my Days since Birth,
Spent in Happiness and Tears.

We are taught to ‘Number Our Days'.
To spend them wisely and full,
Our Life Expectancy is short,
To continue to do HIS Will.

We may be granted Seventy Years,
Perhaps a further Ten,
But when it is our ‘Time To Go',
HE will decide ~ When.

We must account for our Time,
That HE has granted us here,
How we spend it ~ what we do,
Each Second, Minute, Hour or Year.

Waste it ~ and it'll be to our cost,
We cannot go back in time,
Spend it wisely ~ Live Life to the full,
On the past ~ we must ‘Draw A Line'.
