We'Re All Truckers, Baby Poem by Kelly Zion

We'Re All Truckers, Baby

We're all carrying a load,
all driving down the road,
we're all so lonely,
all driving a beat-up rig
we all think life is bigger than it really is

we all start out alone
we all gotta make it home
we all gotta choose the road
we all drive half asleep
we all don't know what's at stake
we're all truckers, Baby

we're all trying to make it
sometimes we just can't take it
we all need Jesus to save us
we're all truckers, Baby

we all drive late at night
we all think everything's alright
we all can't see between the lines
we all try not to cross the lines
because that would be the end of the line

we all just want this road to end
we all try to pretend
this road will last forever
we all try to close our eyes
when we see someone walking by
who doesn't know the answer

we all question ourselves
we all start out unsure
we all need to be reassured
we all break down on the highway
we all pretend we're not crying

Oh, we all break down when no one can see
we're all truckers, Baby
