Cowgirl Baby Poem by Kelly Boutin

Cowgirl Baby

Baby, you’re my Cowboy Baby,
and Baby, with a silver sword
take your heart and chain it to me
and dub me your cowgirl

let me don this cowboy hat
and call myself your baby cat

wrap me in a blanket pink
and tell me life is really sweet

let me ride your motorcycle
to the crystal coast and back
and let me make these cowboy boots
go farther than they ever can

and Baby, when I break my neck,
tell them all I was a lady
show them my princess hat
and call me your Cowgirl Baby

Baby, life’s a danger trip
and I’ll take it as I go
Oh Baby, I’d like to stay a bit,
but the sunsets, they won’t hold

So Baby, I’ll catch them all;
I’ll round up the entire herd
and after I’ve been trampled down
tell them I was your cowgirl

wrap me in a blanket pink
and let me don this cowboy hat,
grow up to ride the wind
all the way into the ground

let me don this cowboy hat
and call myself your baby cat

wrap me in a blanket pink
and tell me life is really sweet

and Baby, when I break my neck,
tell them all I was a lady
show them my princess hat
and call me your Cowgirl Baby.
