We're Born We Grow Up, Then We Die Poem by Hebert Logerie

We're Born We Grow Up, Then We Die

We're born
We eat
On the fringes, like an angel
We drink tea, wine, coffee, milk
Beer, champagne and water
We change our skin
From time to time
We live in the wind
And we grow up like a peacock
We suffer and we rejoice
Life is not heaven
But a different thing
We enjoy the charms of Mother Nature
It rains, it snows, the sun shines
And even lights up the depth of the well
The moon, in the sky, far from the dazzling stars
Charms and caresses the feathers, the veils
Of the wandy birds that live on the wings of the clouds
We travel
We swear
We age
We celebrate countless birthdays
Then we die
We laugh and we weep
On the way to the cemetery
This is the reality of life
What a parody!
What a comedy!
What a dichotomy!

P.S. Happy Birthday to my friend Poet and Radiophonist, Lociano Benjamin.
