We Were Born Into This House Poem by Dan A Cardoza

We Were Born Into This House

Rating: 5.0

We Were Born Into This House

It's a simple memory.
A subtle wind
twisting my past
into ancient closets
where pain's clothing
hangs wrinkled
but not outgrown.

We were born into this house
with the innocence of rain
we shall leave
one by one
no worse for wear.
