We Were Not The Savages Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

We Were Not The Savages

We Were Not the Savages

The sleep that I feel
-squeezes eyelids
-is not and cannot be
-the body's urgent need
-it is must for relief
-form burns that flame inside me…
-of crude running in my blood…
-it harms like drinking kerosene …

You want me to respect
-no never, will be shame
-I tried and tried and
-tried and tried…

I spend each moment to pray
-before head meets pillow
-every day, every night
-to "Love them equal …
-break walls of the past; " but cannot!

Advise me my reading and knowledge:
- "It is all of the past, history
-leave and bow and accept, is gone bye…"
-an try and try and try!
-look in eyes and faces
-see people, the birds and wilderness
-observe cars, vehicles
-and buildings, foundations
-from tips to bases….
-and try to ignore the colours
-regardless, backgrounds and genders,

But in times I lose my control
-mention names and spit…
-most of them, do sadly
-relate to Britain…
-among them, Cornwallis.

Read Edward's story
-in eye of Canada

I go back into war that was named
- Seven Years; two rivals
-France and Britain
-Cornwallis was leader
-he gathered families "Jacobite's"
-men, women, children
-confined them into homes
-then burned them to their deaths.
-properties were looted,
-livestock were chased off,
-and crops destroyed
-simply because he suspected

Feel as urn, inside me a question:
- "What is wrong with ISIS? "
-Persian Gulf's Qatar and Saudis
-do not the children learn from their parents?
-these bastards are born of Britain

Then bad luck brought him
-to "Mi'kmaq" and French, Acadia
-he began recruiting the Foreign Protestants -exactly this is what ISIS does, Wahhabis
-if Europe was base for Cornwallis
-world around is home to the ISIS,

How to talk of order "Scalping"
-paid bounty for killing the Mi'kmaq
-adult, child
-this is what does ISIS

Who are they?
-Cornwallis is leader of ISIS
-and he is sibling to ISIS, Saudis
-the true children, British
-compare their burning, loot to the kill

I get sick of laughing
-when reading comments like:
- "bad, devil, are Islam and ISIS…"
-it takes me to a time with saying:
- "Sun never sets in the British Empire…"
-yes, dear Daniel "We were not the savage."
