We came from England, Germany and Mexico
From Spain, China, Japan and Puerto Rico,
We arrived from Ireland, Scotland and Africa
We all came as immigrants to America.
Like the tree with many colored leafs
We are a county of many different beliefs,
We are a diverse country for the many
And we are the melting pot for any.
We are not one religion or one race
Just come and look upon our face,
You will see us, and our heritage
To stand united, we will, that I pledge.
We might stand apart or together
But, Lady Liberty is still our mother,
We say welcome to all that comes to our land
And for their right and freedom we will stand.
We are the rich and we are the poor
We are the needy who asks for more,
Justice for us liberty holds the weights
We are the people of the United States.
