We Won! Poem by Richard Jarboe

We Won!

Church bells chimed,
Grown men embraced,
Bursting into song,
No matter their race.

Reeling with joy,
Blessing the day,
Praising the dawn,
Of final victory.

A few garnered fame,
Rockets to the sky,
Superiority,
And no alibi.
