Webpreneurs Galore! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Our youths are good citizens
and well-trained netizens!
They find their niche in trades
of flesh of all ages, without
a tint of flush over their cheeks.
Cell phones, Insurance, Cars,
Horoscopes, Tours, ....... the list
overwhelms my mind and mail-box.
Some exhort me to join
some job assuring courses
to extract from me a chunk of fees.
Offers are there to take me,
a staggering senior-citizen, in MNCs
for dogging the IT men to do some business.

I rarely open my e-mail these days.
So I miss messages from my friends,
and biting words from some with poetic craze.
Many a group with panegyric
to political leaders, sages, heroes and heroines,
sportsmen and gang leaders
associate me with them in face-book!
My world of friends dwindles the size of this earth!
But a doubt rattles me often.
Do I have strength to follow these guys
in procession or to sit with them in a fast
or to take part in a boycott or struggle?
Dear boy-wonders and marketing belles!
Don’t fill my mail box with products
for which I don’t have need or want.
Most of our Webpreneurs have set up
glittering shops in the internet!
