Wednesday Morning Poem by Marilyn Lott

I took a ride the other morning
Wednesday was the day of the week
Out in the wide open spaces
It was adventure I wanted to seek

I saw the most beautiful rock there
Seemed to sprout right out of the ground
There was water refreshing and lovely
I got out of my car to look around

So many things to photograph
The layers of landscape was perfect
Yellow flowers on bushes so pretty
So many choices that I could have picked

I loved the old barns and new ones
Dotting the land with their charm
The sky so clear and so blue then
Atop the landscape of rock and farms

I hope that you will take the time too
To take a drive whenever you choose
And if the day is perfect like mine was
There’s no way, my friend, you can lose!
