Weird And Nonsense Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Weird And Nonsense

A lush green hill with well laid roads
beneath the hills a sprawling lake
never seen before yet familiar the place was
seldom I felt moving in an alien land
the vegetation was thick trees were dense
bears and baboons wandering at their will
unperturbed people indulged in their chores
appeared everyone in their twenties
whom I have seen three decades back
only I was there in my fifties moving among
amused over this and alarmed at the sight of
animals moving so freely amid-st all whom I know
I wanted to share this with all my friends
shocked I was to find my mobile missing
stored in the phone was every detail of mine
hardly I remember any other phone number
except mine even to inform family and friends
no one there bothered to notice my plight
a smile with shrugged shoulders was the only response
almost in tears I kicked a pole in great indignation
horrible was the pain that woke me up from sleep
realized I only then that it was a weird dream
after ascertaining the safety of mobile by my side
I quipped my self 'nonsense! What a meaningless dream'!

There is meaning in the dream which your realized by checking if the phone was safe. Back up the phone numbers on a paper and keep in person. Maybe I need to do this too. Thank you.
