Welcome Back Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Welcome back

It is difficult to recover lost ground
even if you go round
with zeal and resolve
We shall not solve this

the sky looked so hostile
he had gone from a life miles away
we had a happy stay
but he preferred to leave me and go away

he had no extra-marital affairs
but his behaviour did not look fair
he was not treating me well
and was trying to tell differently

I did not mind his insulting tone
and always shown a soft corner
the newborn was about to come
and I waited to welcome

he thought otherwise
and acted over-wise
it gave me a surprise
but I had to pay a high price

I didn't curse
but sought an alternative source
to stand on own feet
and greet the challenges

almost a year passed
but missed him all the times
to my utter surprise,
he appeared one day after sunrise

darkness gave way to brightness
I took life as an opportunity
and thanked almighty
for showering mercy,
