Spring came with a coolness,
With innocence and joy,
Spring came with fascination,
And a longing to employ.
Summer came with currents,
With blasts of warming air,
Summer came with laughter,
And the cheer did echo there.
Autumn came with harshness,
With colours all ornate,
Autumn came with bitterness,
Tempting colder fate.
Winter came with sickness,
With snow and ice so pale,
Winter came with petulance,
And breathed upon a gale.
