Well Then, That's Alright Poem by Paul Jonathan Stertz

Well Then, That's Alright

When people downplay what I've done in the world,
I'll let it all go; I'll sleep well at night.
I've given my life, I've laid it all down,
I'll fade in the background, 'cause it's alright.

When I've failed at love, when I've been let down,
I'll weep for my loss-not simmer with spite.
I've opened my soul and I've let my heart love,
I'll never regret it-well then, that's alright.

Those times I'm alone and misunderstood,
I won't become bitter and put up a fight.
I'll not feel downhearted; I'll just do what I do,
It doesn't matter-well then, that's alright.

When people are selfish and hurt my good name,
And I've been dealt a bad hand by life;
I'll be the man who's above all the strife,
It's not my problem-well then, that's alright.
