What a Piece of Work Is Woman
*Matloob Bukhari*

I wandered in the wonderful world of woman,
A universe full of love, beauty, and care,
A realm where beauty meets the soul,
More beautiful than the blue sky,
Where white clouds drift softly by.
More beautiful than a poet's imagination's flight,
Where dreams take wing in the starry night.
Lovely and lovable beyond conception,
She is Shah Latif's milky ocean, from which stems the juice of life.
She is a song of love that breathes delight.
She is Heer, in verses grand, woven by Peer Waris Shah.
Rumi called her a ray of Allah, creative, not created.
Homer portrayed her as loyal, clever, and patient.
Shakespeare depicted her as innocent, virtuous, cunning, and manipulative.
She is Shelley's symbol of purity, beauty, and inspiration.
She is Keats' symbol of timeless beauty and artistic aspiration.
My pen painted her as a butterfly,
Wings of color, soft and bright,
Flying in the garden of the soul.
Her serenity is deep and truthful,
Quiet like the placid Jheel Saif ul Malook.
She is beyond doubt, divine,
More beautiful than the earth and sky,
More beautiful than the starry night,
More beautiful than the moon's soft light,
More beautiful than the river's gleam.
She is my song, my poesy that breathes delight,
The smile of dawn,
The sigh of sunset.
She is not just a beloved,
She is a lover.
