What A Rush? Poem by Aran Kasrawy

What A Rush?

You are not here by my side
But you are
Closer than the tears
That touches my face
Closer than the blood
That circulates in my veins
Closer than the air
That I breathe
Closer than holy rain
That purifies my soul
Closer than ‘I’
To myself
What a rush; at this time?
What a rush; at this age?
***
From the nasty distance
An intense magic song
A lovely whispering tune
Boldly invites me to a dance
A naked tango
On the edge of maturity
What a rush; at this time?
What a rush; at this age?
