What A Shame Poem by Monica O'Connor

What A Shame

Paperthin walls crumble
at the slightest touch.
I'd ask for you to hold me,
but I don't want to ask too much.

Collaboration of spirit and soul create
dreams bigger than we can manage.
Stay, look me in the eyes,
you've already carried this baggage.

I've barred my soul and all my scars
and you have kissed them clean.
Undertones weave their way in between
your fingers, where mine fit so nicely.

We are all but one thing,
and fear is least important when
I know you want to.
So why don't you?
You know its never too much.

This is remarkable writing even minus the rhyme and rhythm - the content is so intense and provocative it excites the reader's intelligence and leaves much food for thought. 10+++++
